Beginning Again

I apologize for not posting recently, but packing up and moving to a new country made it very difficult to do the writing I wanted to do!
And now, here I am in Belize. A new space, a new house, a new culture, several new languages…lots of new-ness!
It is strange, being in a new place, to think of things like the meaning home, my identity, community, roots. I am processing a lot. Simple tasks like buying food take 10 steps instead of just a few. Where do I go to get what I need? How do I get there? How do I act and what do I say once I get there? How much should it cost and am I getting a fair price?

My brain has been on overload, but I am trying to maintain the self care rituals that I need to do: daily yoga, journaling, reading, and processing verbally. I am planning to keep blogging on that list as well. The lack of internet in my house makes that a little difficult, but we are working on that!

Good to hear from you, Cale! I’m sure all the “new-ness” must be overwhelming at times, but remember to be gentle with yourself – there will be a learning curve, but little-by-little you will master pieces of navigating this new place and become a part of it. Baby steps 🙂 Glad to hear that you’re practicing self-care – don’t give up on that, that’s so important!! Sending much, much love to you both from Derry St 🙂
